The brief
The hospital needed to modernise the heating and energy system of its complex and to procure the work as a public contract. That calls for a functional and utility programme (PFU): the document that defines what the new system must achieve and becomes the basis of a design-and-build tender.
What we did
We assessed the existing installations and the hospital's demand for heat and power, then wrote the PFU and prepared the retrofit design. The design puts reliability of supply first and running cost a close second.
The outcome
The hospital has a tender-ready PFU and a retrofit design to build the investment on.
