The brief
The owner wanted an efficient heating and energy system without altering the character of the building, and planned to procure the work on the basis of a functional and utility programme (PFU).
What we did
We surveyed the building and its installations, set out the requirements in the PFU and prepared the retrofit design. Routes for pipes and ducts, and positions for new equipment, were chosen to respect the historic fabric and the conservation requirements.
The outcome
The owner has a PFU and a retrofit design that set out the system's performance and the conservation constraints in one place, ready to procure.
