Industrial · Poznań, Poland
Plenty of solar, yet high bills. We redesigned the heating around a heat pump cascade and now manage the site so more of the energy it produces is used where it is made.

The brief
Despite extensive use of renewables, the Poznań site faced high reactive power charges and a large mismatch between solar output and the energy its service operations needed day to day.
What we did
We designed and delivered a hybrid heating system: an optimised cascade of heat pumps, with the existing gas boiler kept as support. Our engineers metered the three main buildings and manage them day to day, adjusting the system with the seasons and planning maintenance before faults occur.
The outcome
Energy, gas and water use fell by 60%, saving around €65k a year. The 120 people on site report noticeably better thermal comfort and indoor air, and the site depends less on the grid.
