§ 1. Organiser
- The contest “Win a ticket for tonight” (the “Contest”) is organised by Meterd spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością, Orzeszkowo 32A, 17-200 Orzeszkowo, Poland, entered in the register of entrepreneurs of the National Court Register kept by the District Court in Białystok, 12th Commercial Division, under KRS number 0001159037, tax ID (NIP) 6030084737, REGON 541057580 (“Meterd”).
- The Contest is run in connection with Meterd's presence on the Polish National Pavilion at Smart City Expo World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, through the form at meterd.eu/en/scewc and meterd.eu/scewc (the “Page”).
- The winner is chosen solely on the quality of their answer to the contest question, by the jury described in § 5. The Contest is not a game of chance, a lottery, a promotional lottery or a promotional draw within the meaning of the Polish Gambling Act of 19 November 2009 or similar laws of other countries.
- The Contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, UEFA, FC Barcelona or Aston Villa FC. Their names and logos appear on the Page only to identify the match.
§ 2. Who can take part
- The Contest is open to natural persons aged 18 or over with full legal capacity (“Entrants”).
- Members of Meterd's governing bodies, its employees and collaborators, and their immediate families (spouses, parents, children and siblings) may not take part.
- Entrants who work for a public authority or a public-sector body, or for an organisation that awards public contracts, are responsible for making sure that taking part and accepting the prize are allowed under the rules that apply to them, including gift, hospitality and anti-corruption rules. Meterd may ask the winner to confirm this in writing. The prize is not given in return for, or in connection with, any decision, contract or business with Meterd, and Meterd will not award it to a person who takes part, on the contracting side, in a pending procurement procedure or decision concerning Meterd.
- Each person may enter once, with one email address. Entries sent in bulk or automatically, from someone else's email address or under a false identity are invalid.
§ 3. How to enter
- Entries are accepted from the publication of these rules until 3 November 2026, 16:00 Barcelona time (CET). The form on the Page closes at that time.
- To enter, fill in the form on the Page: (a) give your email address, (b) answer the contest question “How do you make a building energy efficient?” in no more than 500 characters, (c) sign up to the Meterd newsletter, and (d) confirm that you are 18 or over and accept these rules.
- Signing up to the newsletter is a condition of entry. You can unsubscribe at any time and at no cost by replying “unsubscribe” to any newsletter email or by writing to contact@meterd.eu. Unsubscribing after you have entered does not cancel your entry.
- Taking part is free and no purchase is necessary. Entrants bear only the usual cost of their internet connection.
- An entry counts once Meterd has received it, and the Entrant gets a confirmation email. Meterd is not responsible for entries that do not arrive because of a wrong email address, the Entrant's device or connection, or other causes outside Meterd's control.
- The answer must be the Entrant's own work and must not infringe anyone's rights or contain unlawful, offensive or advertising content. Entries that break these rules are excluded from the Contest.
- Meterd will not publish Entrants' answers or names without their separate consent.
§ 4. Prize
- The prize is one ticket for one person to the UEFA Champions League match FC Barcelona v Aston Villa at Spotify Camp Nou, Barcelona, on 3 November 2026 at 21:00 (the “Ticket”). The value of the prize is the face value printed on the Ticket. There is one prize in the Contest.
- The prize covers the Ticket only. Travel, accommodation, meals and any other costs of attending the match are borne by the winner.
- The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or for another prize, and the winner cannot transfer the right to the prize to anyone else.
- Use of the Ticket is subject to the terms of the Ticket's issuer and the stadium regulations, including identity checks, security rules and the code of conduct, and the winner is responsible for complying with them. Meterd does not organise the match and is not responsible for its organisation, course or result, or for events at the stadium.
- If the match is cancelled, moved, postponed or played without spectators, or if the Ticket cannot be issued or transferred to the winner, or is cancelled, for reasons Meterd is not responsible for, Meterd will offer the winner a ticket to the rescheduled match where possible, or another prize of similar value. Meterd is not obliged to pay the value of the Ticket in cash.
- If Polish tax law requires Meterd, as the paying agent, to collect income tax on the prize, Meterd will add to the prize a cash amount equal to 11.11% of the prize's value. This amount is not paid out to the winner; Meterd withholds it and pays it to the tax office as the flat-rate tax on the prize. The winner is responsible for any other taxes on the prize in their country of residence.
§ 5. Jury and choosing the winner
- Meterd appoints a jury of three people who oversee the Contest and choose the winner (the “Jury”).
- After entries close, the Jury reviews all valid entries and, by 16:45 Barcelona time on 3 November 2026, chooses the best answer and two reserve answers, ranked in order. The Jury judges each answer on its substance and accuracy, practicality, originality and clarity.
- The Jury decides by majority vote and records its decision in a written protocol, which Meterd keeps.
§ 6. Notifying the winner and handing over the prize
- Meterd will email the winner, at the address given in the entry, by 17:00 Barcelona time on 3 November 2026.
- To receive the prize, the winner must reply by 18:30 Barcelona time the same day, confirming that they accept the prize and can attend the match, and giving their full name, a phone number and the identity document details the Ticket's issuer requires to issue or transfer the Ticket, if any.
- If the winner does not reply in time, declines the prize, does not meet the conditions of these rules or cannot attend the match, they lose the right to the prize, which passes to the author of the first reserve answer and then the second, on the same terms and within deadlines Meterd sets so that the Ticket can still be used. A prize that no one claims stays with Meterd.
- Meterd hands over the Ticket in Barcelona before the match, at a place agreed with the winner, or transfers it electronically through the official system of the Ticket's issuer. The winner must show an identity document when collecting the Ticket.
§ 7. Exclusion
- Meterd may exclude an Entrant who breaks these rules, gives false information, interferes with the Contest or acts against good practice. If an excluded person has already been chosen as the winner, the prize passes on as described in § 6(3).
§ 8. Complaints
- Complaints about the Contest can be sent until 3 December 2026 by email to contact@meterd.eu or by post to Meterd sp. z o.o., Orzeszkowo 32A, 17-200 Orzeszkowo, Poland, with the email address used to enter and a description of the issue.
- Meterd deals with a complaint within 14 days of receiving it and replies by email or by post.
- The complaint procedure does not limit the Entrant's right to pursue claims in court.
§ 9. Personal data
- Meterd is the controller of Entrants' personal data. It processes the data to run the Contest, choose and notify the winner and hand over the prize (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), to send the newsletter on the basis of consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), to meet tax and accounting obligations where they arise (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR) and to handle complaints and claims (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- The winner's name and identity document details are passed to the Ticket's issuer only if it needs them to issue or transfer the Ticket.
- Providing the data is voluntary but necessary to take part. How long the data is kept, who receives it and the Entrants' rights, including the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with the President of the Polish Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), are described in the privacy policy at meterd.eu/en/privacy-policy.
§ 10. Liability
- Meterd is not responsible for the organisation, cancellation or rescheduling of the match; for decisions and actions of the Ticket's issuer, the stadium operator, UEFA or the clubs; for the winner being unable to attend for reasons on their side; or for failures of email or internet services that Meterd does not control.
- The winner attends the match at their own risk, including for their own safety and belongings, and is responsible for any damage they cause.
- Nothing in these rules excludes or limits Meterd's liability where the law does not allow it, in particular for damage caused intentionally, or the rights consumers have under mandatory provisions of law.
§ 11. Final provisions
- These rules are available on the Page for the whole Contest and can be saved or printed.
- Meterd may change these rules only for important reasons (a change in the law, a requirement of the Ticket's issuer or events beyond its control), and changes do not affect rights Entrants have already acquired. Meterd may cancel the Contest only if the prize becomes impossible to provide for reasons beyond its control, and will inform Entrants by email.
- These rules are governed by Polish law. This does not deprive consumers of the protection given to them by mandatory provisions of the law of the country where they habitually reside. Disputes are resolved by the competent common courts.
- These rules are published in Polish and English. If the two versions differ, the Polish version prevails.
- These rules take effect on 29 October 2026.
